Summer Plans, Anxiety in the Situation, and Relying on God May 27, 2020 While Summer has "officially" arrived, it certainly does not feel like it. Many of us are cognisant of the world situation. And many of us might be finding ourselves overwhelmed by the news reports every day. I know I certainly am. It is in these times that we must continue to pray and rely on God, which is easier said than done. This has been a struggle for me lately. I recently came across the following quote from St. Francis of Assisi: "By the anxieties and worries of this life Satan tries to dull man's heart and make a dwelling for himself there." Those of you that know me well, know that I struggle with anxiety, even though I did not really admit that until recently. Worrying comes second nature to me. I think the above quote rings true. When I allow my anxiety and my worry to take over my life, that is when Satan tries to move into my heart and turn me away from God. If we ...
